Balázs Wányi
Balázs Wányi was born in Budapest in 1943. He first cultivated his artistic sensibility at the Technical University of Budapest, where he initially trained as an architect before dedicating himself fully to painting. This early architectural discipline remains visible in the remarkable precision and structure that define his work. During an extended period in England, Wányi became an established presence within the London gallery scene, where his exquisitely rendered still lifes—distinguished by their refined, almost hyperrealistic quality—earned him both recognition and acclaim. Following the political transformation of Hungary in the late 1980s, he returned to Budapest, where he continues to work as a highly regarded artist. Today, his paintings are held in private collections across Europe and the United States, appreciated for their quiet intensity and technical mastery.
